Do Moms use facebook?
I wondered if Moms use facebook? I was learning about facebook and not really ready to sign up but I did for a business reason. I had three friends (I felt a little silly) but I did it! My son signed up a little later and with over a hundred friends told me those one hundred friends was not a lot. No wonder I was a little reluctant. Why did I not have very many friends?
1) I did not engage with anyone I did not know
2) I did not network for more then a few minutes and not every day.
3) I did not tell anyone I was on facebook.
I now realize you have to spend time on facebook to really create a presence. Creating a presence can be fun but that is if you want a presence. Do you need a presence? No, if you only want to stay in touch with three friends you can do that. I did that for a while and I did not get any notices saying you need more friends. But through my trial and error here is what I found.
1) Let people know you are on facebook. They might even ask how to do it.
2) Putting facebook on your iphone iPhone Applications now available on iTunes.com! Shop Now! or other mobile phone makes catching up with friends easier. I find myself looking at facebook in my car waiting in the parking lot for my son.
3) Go out of your comfort zone a little- it can be fun!

Create Networks- Being a member of a network grants users permission to view most of the profiles in that network and join most of the groups.
Profile Page – Create your profile page so that your friends can see who you are.
Facebook Pages - allows all types of organizations to create a presence on Facebook for free.
Inbox - is where all users’ messages are kept. All messages are visible only to the sender and recipients. All Facebook messages are private between the recipients.
Friends page - is the main source of finding information about Facebook friends.
Photos - Create and share unlimited photos and create photo albums from those photos.
The Notes application - share your life through writing.
Groups application - Join groups, make a group and see what groups your friends have joined.
Events application - Check out events, post events.
Posting items - You can post your favorite websites, blogs, videos, and songs.
Video application- Post video to show your friends and family.
Marketplace - You got this one…Buy it, sell it, rent it…
Gifts - Purchase gifts (icons/pictures) and send them to your friends via facebook.
News Feed – This is where you look at to see what is happening with your friends.
