LRN The Lingo iPhone App
Texting
A while ago I wrote about texting and acronyms as one of my favorite things and not for the actual texting itself but for the peace of mind it gives me when my boys leave and I get a text saying that they have arrived at their destination safely. Just a quick here from them and I am feeling so much more at ease.
Texting with the best
I love the peace of mind I get from my sons texting but I seem to want a little more. This summer I am doing a lot of texting and I want to do it with style, I want it to be fun, entertaining and I don’t want to feel like I am too old to know how to text! That is not asking too much, is it? Not anymore….
LRN The Lingo
LRN The Lingo has me covered. This iPhone app makes me young again (at texting any way). I now do not have to ask or search for emoticons, text or lingo that I do not know.
Emoticons are the symbols used for words. Did you know that ~:o means baby? Did you know X(means angry? How about call me, :-c ?
As far as lingo goes I cannot believe what this iPhone app is teaching me. I think there is a whole world out there that I have never encountered!
Texting Fun
Now I can send messages my kids might or might not understand which will just make them send me another message like (?) and the conversation can keep on going.
LRN The Lingo also has slang which in itself is an eye opener. I can not believe the meaning of some words. Grab LRN The Lingo just for slang and it is worth it.
99. Cents at iTunes knowing what your kids are saying, priceless.

I’m glad you liked our app! This was a personal endeavor for us. We have a friend who lost a daughter to suicide due to cyber-bullying. Understanding the new “lingo,” she thinks would have helped her realize the gravity of her daughter’s situation. This app is for her. We hope our usable and fun app will help close the communication gap and keep the generations connected. Thanks again.

Hi Lucinda,
I am sorry for your friend having to go through what she did with her daughter. I do believe you made something good for other parents. I have three teen aged boys and when I started reading some of the lingo, first I laughed then I wanted to cry. I realized how much I did not know and how much really is going on in their world. I thank you for teaching me the lingo of today and again for making this app.

One of the things I love about the products that Crabtree + Company produces is that they come from the heart, they are built with passion, and they make a difference in the world. What a joy to witness the launching of an app that is meaningful, useful and timely. Crabtree + Co raises the standard on everything they do. Speaking on behalf of many, many, moms – we can use all the help we can get – thank you!!!
With much respect
