Ford, Pandora, Twitter
A fellow mom technology blogger told me she could not wait to try out a Ford. My thought, we have a ford explorer and a ford escape, she could try ours. What I did not understand was she could not wait to try out Fords voice-activated navigation, SYNC.
What can a new Ford SYNC do? It can keep you moving with your hands on the wheel! Call, listen to your text messages and find songs all while watching the road!
Technology simplifying life!
After seeing this video of Ford at the CES show in LasVegas I am as excited as my friend in trying out a new Ford and really seeing the new innovative Ford SYNC in action.
Listen to the Twitter statistics!
This is the future happening. I remember when we had to push buttons for the radio (radio only), roll up our windows and no air conditioning. Now we get to talk to our cars! How cool is that????
SYNC Features
Make and receive calls all hands free!
Directions spoken to you through your audio system speakers!
Be directly in touch with a 911 operator – bypassing intermediary call centers – The system is triggered by airbag deployment or fuel pump shutoff.
Just say what you want and SYNC can connect you to the information you need
Say “Traffic” and SYNC delivers helpful on-the-road information
SYNC will read incoming texts to you!
Do we really need all this technology in the car?
Of course not! We did not need air conditioning, power windows, power brakes, FM radio, CD player or how about intermittent wipers? That does not mean we don’t want them! All we need is vanilla ice cream but what fun is that? Bring it on. I love the new technology especially since I (as a Mom) see it solving some safety issues. I have two drivers, one with a permit and one with a license. They do understand no texting. Check out the Oprah’ no phone zone pledge. But, what they do do is change the radio station a million times! This is not safe driving. A car like Ford Sync can really help! : )
Thanks Ford for keeping us happy but mostly for keeping us safe.
What do you think about the Ford SYNC?

I have to tell you, I LOVE my Ford Edge with Sync! I was in the audience wihen Allan Mulally was speaking and it was pretty exciting to hear about all of the technology and safety features they are planning on for 2011 and beyond.
I bought my new Edge just 10 days prior to going to CES and it is so useful. Although I still get irratated in stop-n-go California traffic, it’s not nearly as bad as it used to be. Now I can check traffic, weather, call someone via the car speakerphone (goodbye Bluetooth headset!), or listen to some great tunes via SIRIUS radio (free subscription for 6 mos.).
I bought a 2009 car but the features for 2011 are even better, as you stated. Microsoft makes the Sync and they make other computer systems for KIA and a few others. If nothing else, it’s worth going to a dealership to test drive it for yourself.
