I love having a contributing writer on fashion. It is not all techy but it fits me as a Mom. My wardrobe consist of jeans, tanks and sweatshirts for the most part. I like to say, I am a Mom of boys, which I am, my husband loves me in jeans, which he does, but I sometimes just like the feeling of dressing like a girly, girl. So, I love the tips I get via email (techy) from Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Sincox of ShopEasyStyle first article Look Ten Pounds Thinner by Tonight gave us an insight of our body types and how to wear complimentary clothing for our bodies. Today Elizabeth will help us with “I’ll pick you up in ten minutes!”
“I’ll pick you up in ten minutes…”
These words ring fear in women of all ages from my 16 year old daughter, to my 88 year old mother.
Can you do it? Can you be ready? What are you going to wear?Clothes begin to pile up on the floor as you reject tops and dresses. Saying things like,
“This one makes me look fat.” or “Darn it! I need to hem those pants!” or “I need to iron this one.”
STOP!!! Plan ahead
If you organize your closet now, you are 1/2 way there to a new improved you!
Here are my 5 easy steps to trimming the fat from your closet.
1) Get rid of anything you haven’t worn in 2 years!!
2) Get rid of all the clothes that don’t fit you or work with your body type:
* Apples
NO turtlenecks, boat-neck, crew-necks, horizontal striped or breast pockets of any kind on jackets or tops! No straight or pencil skirts & NO capris!
* PEARS
NO skinny or tapered jeans. No skirts, shorts or pants with 3D pockets on the bottom or at the hips. No horizontal stripes on the BOTTOM (top is OK) No Jackets that come over and cup your butt! NO CAPRIS!
* Rectangles
No boxy coats, jackets or tops. NO CAPRIS!
* Hourglasses
No Tunics (unless they are belted) NO skirts, pants or dresses with pockets at the hips! NO skinny jeans, circle skirts, boxy coats, jackets or tops. Avoid very blousy tops & bottoms. NO CAPRIS!
3) Make a pile of clothes to take to the tailor.

4) Create your own “Lookbook”
When you have free time make outfits with jewelry. Lay them on your bed & photograph them. Then, print them up & put them in a binder. I just finished updating my “LookBook”. I have it divided into seasons. I can pack for vacation in 30 mins. I just thumb through the book & pick everything out. Photograph your favorite jacket with 3 or 4 alternative tops and bottoms. (Rule of thumb when purchasing clothes: You should be able to wear it with 3 or 4 other things or wear it to 3 or 4 different events.)
If you need help making outfits grab a fashion magazine or favorite catalogue & see if you can put together similar out fits with your own clothes.
5) While trying to decide what to keep and what to get rid of Click on to www.ShopEasyStyle.com go to “Closet Essentials” (Top right of the page) every “Trendsetter” should have most everything on these two lists. (Stick with your body type if it says pencil skirt and you’re an Apple or Pear go for the A-Line. Adjust the list to fit your body type.)
I was the worst at getting ready. Once I organized my closet and dressed for my body type I developed more confidence in the way I looked and felt about myself. I feel great everytime I get dressed. The best part is seeing the look of shock on my husband’s face when I am ready before him!
That Will Help Simplify Life!
